The historic Stage Coach Inn in Newbury Park first opened in 1876 as a rest stop for passengers traveling between Santa Barbara and Los Angeles. Pioneer farmers and ranchers settled in this residential area nestled within the Thousand Oaks boundaries of influence. Today, the renovated inn along with the carriage house, pioneer house, schoolhouse, adobe and American Indian hut sit lovingly preserved as a museum showcasing Victorian furnishings, Chumash artifacts and rotating historical exhibits. Over the past decade, Newbury Park has become the preferred location for many corporate offices and technology companies and is known for its small town atmosphere.
