Located on the Ventura-Los Angeles County line is Westlake Village, a remarkable community recognized as one of America's most successful suburbs consisting of top-notch architecturally designed homes and businesses.  The Ventura County portion of Westlake Village, with 21,000 residents, was annexed to the City of Thousand Oaks in1968 and 1972.  The Los Angeles County side was incorporated as the City of Westlake Village in 1981.  Built around a 150-acre lake, Westlake Village currently has a population of approximately 8,500 residing within several award-winning neighborhoods.
